The Getaway is on a mountainside and there are 39 stairs from the parking lot to the dwellings - another 50 to the Hideaway.
This is a nature area and if you are lucky you may encounter mammals and reptiles - although they are generally shy and elusive .
There are two mountain walks above the property
Energy (in the winter) and water (in the summer) need to be used sparingly - a good practice wherever you may be - but especially here since we are completely off the grid.
There are dogs on the premises for security and for warning about the occasional presence of baboons. They are trained to be people-friendly and have become one of the Getaway’s favourite attractions.
